Shelter, rehabilitate and reintegrate
'Lar Vinicius' shelters children in need, who have been abandoned, are victims of domestic violence or are at risk. They come to us, by court order, having been temporarily taken away from their families. During the time they stay in our care, they are physically and emotionally rehabilitated so as to be reintegrated into their biological families or foster families. Either or it depends on the decision of the Child and Youth Court of Law.
Infra-Structure
The children live in three residences which have ample and clean rooms. They lead a comfortable and dignified life under the care of a foster mother and an assistant who provide them with a 'family-like' environment so as to help them get their health, culture and dignity back.
Staff
In order to provide care for the children we shelter, we have a special staff that consists of a board of directors and twelve employees: four foster mothers, four assistants, a substitute foster mother, a cook , a case-worker and an administrator.
Volunteers and Collaborators
We have a group of volunteers that come to ‘Lar Vinicius’ to give our children love and affection. Besides that, they provide the children with academic support and recreational and leisure activities. We also count with health professionals who, eventually, help us care for our children’s well being. Finally, we have associates and companies that contribute financially to our institution. |
